Deer in headlights

There are many instances in life where one may find themselves at a fork in the road, questioning which path to take. This goes for anything and everything. However, when it comes to a certain experience where an explanation cannot be found, the only alternative is to simply laugh.

Today was interesting. To paint a simple setting, it was a beautiful sunny, warm day. Perfect day for a bike ride, which is exactly what I did with my good friend Cori :] We had ice cream sundaes at an adorable cafe and we were off to spend the rest of the day at a nearby creek. On the way we stopped at what appeared to be a store, with a handwritten sign above the door that read: 99 cent hot- spot. The minute we walked in the most unwelcoming stench entered our nostrils, but mutually we decided to give this place a chance. "Place" would be a common word to call it, but it literally felt as if we walked into the shop owner's home. Junk piled everywhere, couches, clothes with no access to even if you were curious. With little room to move we came to a stop almost instantly and noticed cigarette butts on a table to the right. All of this was going on within a matter of minutes. We casually left, silence continued until Cori perfectly commented, "I don't know what just happened."

The creek didn't do any better. On our way out we found a random cross with flowers, which anyone would naturally assume would represent the death of someone or something. Who knows.

As we said our goodbyes, before parting we noticed an outdoor brick stove-like furnace with a laundry basket underneath. An interesting end to an interesting day. I can only hope that more of these questionable experiences come around because I know they are lurking around corners just waiting to hear me laugh and smile, I mean isn't that what life is all about?
